Getting your kids involved in the community from a young age

Rock Finding in Rock City is a great way to get kids interested in community activities, volunteering and charitable service. Kids can feel deeply connected to this project and to their community by joining in on the Rock Hiding and Finding experience.

When kids get to pick out a rock they find in the yard or at the hardware store and paint it with their own design it is building their creativity and unleashing their imagination into something that others will come to find in an unlikely place. For the people that find the rocks around town they feel a sense of joy and adventure, but it also brings out an appreciation for the hard work it takes to create such a small piece of art.

It is our hope going forward that more members of our community can take the time to create a rock with their children and help use this activity as a way to teach them the value of bringing happiness to others, giving something positive freely without expecting anything in return.
